I was so excited to get into this book, because I loved the first one!
BUT I have to admit that it did not quite live up to it's hype and GGGTM and here's why:
- the plot was good because there were some parts I didn't see coming (like the motive) but a lot of the things where too predictable
- the ending felt a bit rushed and compared to book 1 not as elaborate and thoughtful
- the characters itself are likeable, even more than in the first book, but some where also pretty one dimensional
I know, I drew a lot of comparisons between book 1 and 2 but it is hard not to when you know, what Holly Jackson can do.
In the end, it was a good book that got me out of a reading slump and I would still recommend reading it, especially if you liked the first instalment :)
I haven't read a mystery/thriller book in quite some time, so I didn't really know what to expect and if the book will be able to hold my attention.
To my surprise, it did!
Right from the start, I tried to figure out (together with pip, the protagonist) who was responsible for the murder of Andie.
Let's just say, I did not expect the plot twist/reveal of what happened to andie.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm looking forward to grabbing the second book.
