So much potential, with only a couple stories that really left a lasting impression. Reading about Tal Rasha and the Countess were definitely the highlights.
Not much to this book, unfortunately. Thrall's and Faerin's stories brought it to 3 stars.
Great teachings on Grace and Humility, as well as reminders about the importance of seeking Joy from the true source of Joy.
The WoT books keep getting better and better. 4.5 stars, especially the latter half of the book. Loving the Aiel so far.
Interesting format, but not my favorite type of story telling. A few pretty intense stories, but not much of a climax or anything.
I could not find myself invested in any character, in any setting, or any of the “intellectual” dialogue. I wished I would have just stopped reading after Ender's Game, which is one of the best books ever.
Much, much better than book one, but still not there. So much potential for this one, too!
3.5 stars. An interesting read, with a unique setting. I think Middle-grade readers would like this more.
Dragonlance was foundational for me, so I was very excited to see this new trilogy. Unfortunately, Destina as a character was boring, her quest (and the main premise of the entire story) was nothing worth rooting for, and the overall plot points of how she goes about doing things were just uninteresting. The 2nd star was earned by the final pages that set up book two, which I'm hopeful may bring some form of redemption to the trilogy, albeit a small amount that is now expected.
Excellent book. Between this and The Power of Habit, you won't need to read much more on the subject.
Every bit as good as the first book in all respects. I can't think of anything I would have changed. Super stoked to begin the final book!
Decent YA series, with good characters. I was happy the main protagonist wasn't annoying, and performed the unexpected now and then.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Nothing I can think of that bothered me or that I'd change.
3.5 stars. Maybe because I was expecting so much between 2 of the greatest ever characters, but the side story was a drag. It lacked any truly tense moments.
