Yes & I Love You

Honestly, this wasn't bad. However, I couldn't finish because my nervous tick started acting up with the different tics that are present in this story. And for my sanity, I didn't finish it.

4,5 stars!

First of all, I'd like to mention that I absolutely LOVED this book!
I really liked the main character: Hollyn. She is such a relatable character and Loren did a great job in portraying Hollyn's Tourette syndrome. This was really refreshing to read.
I also really liked the comedy vibe that is part of the story. The whole improv class situation is so much fun to read.
Jasper is the second main character in this book. Sometimes, I didn't fully support the decisions he made, but overall he is a pretty lovely character. He makes his mistakes and has his insecurities, but he seems to make a pretty good duo with Hollyn, in my opinion. Their chemistry is amazing and a joy to read.

I'm really excited for the second book in this duology and will definitely read it.

3.5 stars. New-to-me author, title/cover caught my eye. Entertaining contemporary rom-com and very cool to see improv highlighted as an art form. I was glad that the novel featured a heroine with a disability (Tourette Syndrome) but it didn't always feel fully integrated in her character. I'm not saying that people with disabilities don't deserve their own HEAs, but it stretched credulity for Hollyn to go from someone who could barely leave the house because of her social anxiety to someone who was having sex in semi-public places and performing on stage with the improv troupe. For comparison's sake, see any of Talia Hibbert's “Brown Sisters” books ([b:Get a Life, Chloe Brown 43884209 Get a Life, Chloe Brown (The Brown Sisters, #1) Talia Hibbert https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1614273529l/43884209.SY75.jpg 66903616] et al); the heroines have disabilities that are a foundational part of who they are from beginning to end even as they change and develop. Jasper was a delightful hero until the end of the book when he made a couple of asshole moves that warranted more groveling than he did. Looks like this author likes to write spicy romances with lots of sex. The cover of this book promised something more along the Chick Lit line a la Sophie Kinsella, where more is hinted than spelled out.
