Even though i had a great history teacher at school - those books are great in showing the history events from multiple different perspectives. It is one thing to learn about history from the strategic point of view, but looking from everyday people, especially on the other side of the fence (anti-nazi resistance movement in germany) is eye opening.
Also, f*** russia. Now and then.
Too little character development, dialogue seemed wooden – these didn't feel like the three-dimensional characters of the first book. I loved Billy Williams and his sister Eth, and here they have little to say and the new characters aren't fully drawn. Nonetheless I'm going to go for book 3 and end the trilogy.
