What does it mean to be a hero? How can one possibly measure sacrifice or success? Why do we focus on the what rather than who or why?
An excellent book and window into the life of a highly commendable average joe.
This book was not up to Krakauer's usual standard. He over-glorified Tillman; I think a book featuring Tillman along with a few other bios of ‘regular folk' serving during the gulf war would have been more well-rounded and interesting.
Again, big Krakauer fan. This book is a weeper, but Krakauer did his research and the book is fascinating.
