Dylan Mathers is a complication I don't need in my life.
Star of the football team, popular man on campus, hot as hell...and he's my best friend. Or at least, that's what we're telling everyone.
As hard as I try, I can't deny the connection we have. I'm desperate to discover all his thoughts and secrets and even want to tell him mine. Mostly. If it didn't mean risking everything I've tried hard to protect. After avoiding relationships for years, I'm suddenly finding it hard to remember why.
I thought I knew our truth. I thought my heart was safe. I was wrong. There's so much more to our story. And it turns out, I'm not the only one with demons.
We should have known better...
The past always catches up with you.

I really enjoyed the overlapping moments of this story. The fact that they only live a few blocks apart and frequent the same restaurants and cafes creates such a cute tie between the characters. I also liked the way each of the characters is introduced smoothly and thoughtfully aka Aiden on the telephone with Maya and Grayson kicking through the back door. I'm hopeful Jackson's story will be next.
Def some pacing issues, y'all know I hate a third act breakup. Spicy scenes were NOT IT. Also idk why but the piggyback ride thing gave me a huge ick oops. There was no real conflict/plot here honestly and I wish there was, like the only real problem here was Aiden having commitment issues (that were never resolved????) don't get me wrong this was well worth the read, Grayson and Mateo were chef's kiss and I adored Maya! Overall i think it needed more fine tuning plot wise to be truly good
