Belle, girl stand tf up! She’s better than me but I also think she’s kind of stupid (?). For one, if someone tells me their family is cursed I certainly would not marry into the family, idc how broke my family is or how hot the groom is. Two, being betrayed by a friend then going “ I don’t have it in me to hate him anymore” is insane. Girl hate that man until the end of time. The housekeeper or whatever she was to them, should’ve been fired at the first sign of hostility.

The “curse” (a murderer and not a curse) being who it was did shock me. He was the last person that I expected to be killing people. I kind of enjoyed finding that out but hated his reasoning for it. His sister being killed at a park and his parents being selfish and committing suicide, leaving him alone had absolutely nothing to do with that family and he still blamed them because his boss refused to chase after his sister???? Weird but okay.

I found myself getting bored with this book early on and honestly I should’ve figured out that this book was simply not for me before the 60% mark but I wanted to give it a chance…

When Hearts Surrender was excellent. The prologue immediately gripped me and literally had tears in my eyes. The curse was artistically woven into the book. It was a beautiful eternal love story transcending more than a lifetime.

Belle and Maxwell were adorable. I loved the portrayal and realness of Maxwell's crippling social anxiety and how supportive Belle was. Maxwell truly grew throughout the book.
