Vita Nostra

I read the English translation by Julia Meitov Hersey. I almost put it down several times, but it was very decidedly occupying my brain space so I kept picking it up again. The plot was a very original take on the teenager-goes-to-magic-school theme, alternately intriguing and terrifying. It made me uncomfortable, frustrated me, and ultimately impressed me with its complexity. Basically, this book was on acid and I liked it.
