As the daughter of a librarian I respect all books good and bad. One page in I knew who the murder was, but assumed I was wrong. I was not wrong! I actually wanted to physically harm this book after the final plot twist was revealed and I'm the person that cringes every time a movie character dog ears a book. This book makes me want to run Dean Koontz over with a car repeatedly like the monster from Jeepers Creepers! That is how much I hate this book.

Absolutely loved this! Not normally my genre but I was hooked by the accessible writing style and premise.
Good characters and captivating dialogue.
I found the action elements extremely visceral and easy to follow which is often something I find challenging.
This was my introduction to Koontz and gifted to me by a friend. It was a wonderful journey.

I'm not typically a fiction reader, but this one held my interest. Fun read.

Questo è il primo libro di Koontz che leggo e devo dire che mi è subito piaciuta sia la storia, che il suo modo di scrivere.

Veloce e adrenalinico il libro come il titolo nel giro di poche pagine ti ritrovi già al centro di questo thriller ben congegnato (anche se si può intuire in qualche modo il cattivo già dalle prime pagine), l'idea del coinvolgimento del protagonista tramite scelta/non scelta elaborata sotto forma di “indovinelli” è ben azzeccata e alcuni colpi di scena sparsi nel libro ti invogliano a proseguire la lettura con piacere.

I personaggi sono ben descritti anche se non si entra quasi mai in “profondità” e a volte alcuni accorgimenti fanno un po' sorridere.

Il finale è piuttosto scontato ma non delude. Credo che leggerò presto altri libri di questo autore che mi ha piacevolmente colpito.

This book was seriously well written. it's the first of Dean Koontz that i've read and im considering adding more of his books to my to-read. Although, i did predict who the killer was!
