Let me be totally, and bluntly honest. I didn't really like the first book. It took me months to finally read this one. But let me tell you something. I'm really glad I did.
“Easy. I can do this.”
These may seem like really simple words, but trust me, they are not. In the first book, our lovely protagonist, Juliette, was one of the most annoying characters I have ever encountered. She was extremely dependent on Adam and couldn't do anything by herself. In Unravel Me, Juliette broke up with Adam very early on in the book. She was forced to start being independent, and I actually started liking her.
Adam. I never liked Adam to be honest. But he was really possessive and obsessive in the book, and it honestly started creeping me out. I was so relieved when they broke up. After all, Juliette was about to enter somewhat of an abusive relationship. The only good thing about him was that he seemed to be nice with his brother, and cared deeply for James.
Warner. Ah, Warner. He's not exactly what he seemed. I found him to be very intriguing and I wanted some more one-on-one moments with him and Juliette, solely to learn more about him. He's just so broken, and he's a wonderful character. And yes. I do ship him with Juliette. -_-
So yeah. It was a lot better than the first. And I just finished the last one, so I can tell you that it just gets better.
“‘I think you can change,' I hear myself saying. ‘I think anyone can change.'”
