Jax McMalley had always known her life would be under the city's watchful eye, considering her father was one of the mafia Don's who controlled the city. She never really considered it would be a problem. Not at least, until they were at the start of a war, and the enemy takes the man she dared to care too much for.

I LOVED this. I don't think I've ever read a mafia romance where the FMC was the one actively in the mafia. Since this was a novella, it was fast paced without losing any character or plot development which I appreciate as a reader. I didn't raise any expectations going into this as I haven't explored too many novellas as I enjoy longer novels. I would love to see this turned into a longer novel and follow their story.
Jax and Cam fall in love while she intentionally drags out his tattoo appointments. Cam knows she's the heir to the McMally Mafia yet that doesn't deter him from pursuing her and gaining acceptance from her father.
