Very cute romantic relationship between two main characters and that's about it.
This is supposed to be enemies-to-lovers, but the "enemies" part was in the past and we only hear about it. In fact, there is no real tension between the main characters, although we often hear about their rivalry and so on.
The characters are quite flat and 90% of the dialogue in the books is between them and their friends, who are immature and engage in unfunny repetitive banter every time they interact with each other. In fact, you could have replaced them all with 1 person and the book and the interactions wouldn't change much.
2 starts only for the relationship between the two main characters and because I liked the ending.
This book was fine, but I didn't find it all that unique or interesting. The rivalry lasts for a very short time and is mostly Emma being a jerk for no reason, so most of this is a fluffy workplace romance. Hockey doesn't feature nearly as prominently as I'd expected and it seemed like the author often forgot about Campbell's bad knee. The friendships in the book were fun overall, though some jokes definitely got run into the ground.
