Two Dogs

Cute, quirky, a little bit surreal... This one might need a little parental guidance to explain that dogs definitely shouldn't swim in the family pool unsupervised and such, but we're talking about picture books here so parents will be involved anyway. I thought it was fun, but also a touch strange - especially when the story began on the title page.

Dachshund brothers Augie and Perry are left alone every day and they find themselves bored. Their solution? They escape from the house and do everything they are not supposed to do.

The dog brothers seem to be exactly like children. And the dog mother accepts whatever the dogs do with love. Charming.

Gosh I love dachshunds. The story could have flowed better, but the pups were cute and I liked the outside backgrounds. 3 doggo duos out of 5.
