Truth in Advertising

John Kenney obviously knows the advertising business from personal experience. The scenes set at Fin's work are hilariously satirical and surprisingly even-handed about the business' virtues (advertising's vices are obvious). The rest of the plot is clichéd and heavy-handed - the father issues, the inability to admit his feelings about Phoebe, the co-worker who is obviously perfect for him, etc. It would have helped if Kenney had given Phoebe more of a personality than beautiful and capable of witty repartee. But all in all a quick, entertaining read.

Both funny and poignant, this was a good book and a quick quality read.
