I read this on audio and they introduce that the ASL sections of the book with feature a recording of ASL being used in the background so you could indicate when ASL was being used by the characters. It was a unique experience and an interesting way to indicate this in an audiobook. I plan to look though the book as well to see what's going on in the text as well.
The story was just ok for me- but I was captured by how much I was learning about d/Deaf culture that I was really wrapped into it. I had trouble distinguishing when characters where switching, but other wise I think it was nicely written. The POV helps build the situation and plot but it took me a while to know it was a switch (and not like a time past/current situation). I think this may have been because I was listening to audio at work and maybe missed the indications?
