Toxophilus - The School of Shooting

This book is the earliest primer on the sport of archery and its practice. Roger Ascham lays the foundation for the proper technique used in shooting a bow (in this case the English Longbow) and the equipment needed. In later years the storage cabinet used to hang an unstrung bow became know as an "Ascham".
