“Usually when Jews are mobbed in Lithuania, it's to kill them, but this was because of Harry Potter.“
“I don’t have a clue how the various acts and scenes of my life have gone down with you, dear reader - I hope you have enjoyed reading it. I’ve enjoyed living it.”
Well first off… there was a lot more c*ck s*cking than I expected, especially from a lesbian.
I enjoyed spending time with Miriam, first half is better than the second but all in all fun. I want to read more memoirs as I found Miriam and me being very different people. But I only want to read if people are open and fun like Miriam. A lot of these books are just PR but didn’t get that feeling here.
… I wonder what she would think of me if she met me?
For those of you who love Miriam, you will love this book. As you read it you can hear her voice saying everything in her own eloquent and sometimes naughty way. Overall, it is an enjoyable and lighthearted read with great insights into the acting profession and charming anecdotes on being a woman who is gay, Jewish, British and fat. I feel as though I want to give her a big hug!
What a fantastic book! So so funny and I learnt a thing or two along the way as well!
This book definitely isn't for the prudish or faint hearted. Miriam isn't backward about coming forward with regard to her personal life. Never one to mince words, she tells it exactly how it is. Warts and all, and then some.
A wonderful read. I loved her humour, outspokenness and of course the gossip.
