They're Made Out of Meat

I love this story! I often read it with my students, and they think it's really confusing, but then we have some really good discussions.

Summary: A couple of extraterrestrial beings discuss a recent (and, to them, somewhat unwelcome) discovery of sentient life on another planet.

They talk by flapping their meat at each other. They can even sing by squirting air through their meat.

The cover art for this is creepy given the context of the story. Earth is discovered to be inhabited by talking meat and aliens find this to be hilarious because meat are the lowest of the low. They are meat. I laughed, it was short, but I laughed.

Great little story.

A short, funny and interesting story from the point of view of two extraterrestrial beings who are trying to decide what to do with the talking meat (you know, the human race).
