"The story of a young man, William McRae, who enlisted in the RCAF in 1940, trained as a pilot with the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan and moved to Britain as a Spitfire pilot. He served in Britain and West Africa and participated in the D-Day landings in 1944. On returning to Canada he was involved in the aerial survey and mapping of Northern Canada. He left the service in 1945."--
