Three of these essays had appeared first in The New Yorker where I read them, and they are the primary reason I bought the book and read it. I've enjoyed several of Patchett's novels, so it was wonderful to get to know her a little through these very personal essays.
I listened to this one, and I loved it. So much truth and beauty and love and humor.
These Precious Days is a collection of essays by writer Ann Patchett. She starts with her own life—her three dads, her time as a young person in Paris, her love for children's books—and uses these experiences as a jumping-off place to inform us about the deep meanings of our existences.
