The Words

I've rated this book three stars for two main reasons: 1) I actually read the entire novel 2) I did have some big feels throughout
There was a lot in this book that I did not like.
Let's be honest Phoenix essentially had her raped. Doesn't matter how it ended but she wakes up, she's handcuffed and there's a woman going down on her without her consent.. that is rape.
Everybody this book needs intense therapy but all they do is enable each other. Noone at any point suggest that anybody in this book it therapy, that's crazy.
At one point Phoenix narrowly misses Lenin's head by throwing a bottle of alcohol. He's actually pretty destructive and super violent.
Poor george. He just seem like a sweet man who wanted to go on a couple day to the woman he liked and said he got drugged through the mud and absolutely humiliated on his birthday. And then towards the end of this book they made him the villain which seems quite out of character for him but okay.
I'm not sure there was any character development throughout this long book 😢
