The Winter in Anna

The Winter in Anna is a wonderful book on many levels. A young man starting out in life in a new community meets a woman at work. Although older, she is not a young woman in body or mind. The story is their struggles, together and separately. An unlikely friendship forms in the following year that is sweet and heartbreaking, tender and tragic. The Winter in Anna refers to the female character, Anna, and the winter inside of her. It's a great title. And the author's prose and style is admirable.
