The Wind's Call

I'm glad I took a break from this series because I was able to come back fresh. The first book is still my favorite, but I am enjoying Eva's story. I'm getting adult [b:Wild Magic 13836 Wild Magic (Immortals, #1) Tamora Pierce https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1554192590l/13836.SY75.jpg 1171314] vibes with this new story although, again, it definitely is crossed with [b:Captive of the Horde King 175635283 Captive of the Horde King (Horde Kings of Dakkar, #1) Zoey Draven https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1686248208l/175635283.SY75.jpg 69177750] except more plot, less spice. So, nomadic warrior people conquering the known world with the MC being talented in someway that becomes highly important and she falls in love with one of the warriors. Eva has an ability to connect with animals which is what leads her on her current adventure. I just love Eva's character. I wish there was more build up between her and Caden, but maybe I wasn't inferring enough. Either way, I think I'm going to love them more as I read the next book.
