The Trial of Marie Montrecourt
The Trial of Marie Montrecourt
It is a rare occassion for me to give up on a book before I reach about 50% of it, but with this one I just couldn't stomach any more of it. The heroine was so boring, the writing was stale, flat, the interactions unnatural, and the dialogue more wooden than my kitchen table. The only characters that seemed to have some potential were Daphne and Evelyn, but they weren't worth the trouble of sticking with them. It's a pity, really, because I thought I would really enjoy the novel. Pity for the beautiful cover, as well...
