An old photo, depicting a couple in love, finds it's way into Katie's hands while she is looking through boxes in the attic. The photo is of her grandparents. It's a beautiful photo, but why is her grandfather wearing a Nazi coat? He has always been secretive about his past, and with him sick and on his deathbed, it's time Katie finds out why.
This isn't just a story about Katie's grandfather and the mystery of his past. This is also about Katie and her husband, Noah. They are struggling together and have separated. Through solving the mystery of her grandfather's past, can she also heal her present?
Katie begins a journey to discover her grandfather's secrets. During this journey she will learn the truth of who he is, and why he wanted to forget the traumatic memories of his past. She will also delve deep into her marriage and realize that it isn't over...that love is worth fighting for.
“Noah, you've taught me that love is a choice. And it's a choice worth fighting for. Noah, I choose you.”
The Touch of Love is written in a dual timeline, which is a favorite format of mine. You alternate between Katie's present and her grandfather's past during WWII. While I loved the historical portion of this one, I really enjoyed reading about Katie and Noah. There is such deep feeling and meaning in their relationship but miscommunication and misunderstanding sent it reeling. Reading of them finding their way back to each other was heartwarming.
I have read every book in the Senses of Love series and have enjoyed each one. These are all standalone and can be read in any order. Each book touches upon one of the five senses. They are all sweet and clean romances that reach into the heart and are filled with feeling and real issues.
“Love is not only a feeling or an idea, but the result of what is experienced through the five senses.”
I sincerely appreciate the publisher for providing me with a review copy. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.
