Short and sweet.
A nice little fable, with a nice little twist which, although I managed to guess almost immediately was still revealed very satisfyingly.
I wouldn't say the story is related to the Grisha Trilogy in any way except (likely) taking place in the same universe. But it was okay and I enjoyed reading it.
A fun story about Koja, a smart but not very pretty fox. He manages to escape traps and helps other animals with his smart ideas. However, when a skilled hunter moves nearby, Koja faces a big challenge. I rooted for him all the way even though I saw that ending coming from a mile away, but it was still nice. Overall, it's an enjoyable and easy-to-read story with a likeable main character.

I haven't read books with talking animals for a while now. This sure made me nostalgic. A pretty well told story i think, athough it's definitely not my favourite short story in the grishaverse.
I saw the plot twist coming towards the end although the too-clever fox didn't. eyeroll.
(considering there was quite a bit of foreshadowing for it, i'm pretty sure a lot of people did)
However, I really liked koja despite his slight well, more than slight not-too-clever-ness in the end. And Lula's a tiny little sweetheart:) The fact that i was invested in a story that's literally just 30 pages long only proves how good [a:Leigh Bardugo|4575289|Leigh Bardugo|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1534446099p2/4575289.jpg]'s writing is.
It's almost as if you have to traumatize kids in order to teach them valuable lessons...
A lesser creature might have closed his eyes and prayed for nothing more than a quick death. But if Koja had words, then he had hope.
At first I thought it could have been a story about Nikolai 😣
It's a nice story, but it's been the one I liked less among the novellas I've read so far 😥
Short story - sort of a fairy tale set in a fictional town / forest (inspired by Russia). Quick, easy read.
