In the late 1880s, Holmes and Watson travel to the United States at the request of Holmes' well-known cousin, the actor, Edwin Booth. Someone has been attempting to assassinate Edwin, following him to Europe and back to America. A Pinkerton Agent joins the effort to keep Edwin alive, but the assassin must be mad, and must be found.
