Satirical novels aren't really my thing, as they tend to be too on-the-nose, but I did like the exploration of female friendships and insight into the difficulties of the music industry, especially when you aren't straight and white. The social media aspect was interesting enough, but overall it was just okay to me. Absolutely lovely cover, though. 3 tweets out of 5.

I AM SAD

the writing is pretty much all i struggled with in the book but having listened to the audiobook it had a huge effect on my enjoyment. i appreciated a lot of the discussions this book touched on, such as POC artists creating work in a world of white supremacy, but unfortunately... i found myself thinking thinking “no this is too much” with the inner dialogues too often. had i read a physical/e-copy it might've been a 3 star. oh well...
