The Scorch Trials

Short Review: The Scorch Trials breaks the mold from other recent young adult dystopian trilogies. It kept me guessing about what was going to happen next. Thomas, one of a group of teens that broke out of a maze in the first book, has not managed to break free of WICKED. WICKED is testing the teens for an unknown purpose. At the beginning of the book, the test becomes more overt. A man in a white suit tells them that they are being tested. The goal of the current test is to go 100 miles in two weeks across a desert landscape. Should they manage to stay alive, they will be given the cure for a disease that all of them had been exposed to. There is a lot of double dealing and suspicion in this book. Who is really part of the test and who is from WICKED? And does it really matter in the end if the accomplish the task, will WICKED actually cure them?
