INCOMING: MY HUMBLE OPINION

I'm not sure how I managed to get through all the 500+ pages (it was a fever dream) but I made it out of spite. There really isn't any plot happening here, it's a fuckfest through and through, which is absolutely fine if that's what u want, but I didn't even enjoy the fuckfest in this book. There was only 1 part of the book which got me going "Wait whaaatt??? what next then?" which was when Blake was getting tested by the Lords to see if she would sign the divorce papers (and how she was dealing with Cindy afterwards). Apart from that I honestly didn't feel like I cared about any of the characters apart from Tyson maybe (he at least had some intrigue going for him).

It was a nice read tbh a lots was going on on this book. A mafia man “A LORD” to be specific is one of the most dangerous men in the lords world fell for a senior girl and decided to marry her because of a thing he discovered. The book was great a lot of smut for my liking but it doesn't ruin the excitement. It's 100% a dark romance, it was my first book of this genre and for sure it won't be the last .

This book has it all, an amazing story, great characters (love Ryat & Blakely) and lots of smut 😀.

What more can you ask for?

Wow, it's hard to believe that my mindset went from “this is definitely not deserving of the hype it gets on booktok” to “I see why it's so hyped on booktok” it really did a full circle. I honestly hated the beginning, it was boring to me, and not to mention that Matt character should've died a whole lot sooner because the man was getting on my nerves. The plot twist of Valerie not being Blakely's mother. The plot twist of LeAnne not only being Blakely's biological mother BUT to end up alive after I was thinking she was dead the entire time. Just like Ryat I don't trust LeAnne for one bit. What had me absolutely SHOOK was when Ty made it seem like he was really there betraying Ryat, the man was way TOO convincing. But I do love that Ryat never once judged Blakely for her kinks and he helped her satisfy her needs.

3.5/5. I tried reading it a few months ago and ended up dnf-ing it because it took a while to get in to. But when I came back to it, it ended up being pretty good. I just really didn't think it needed to be that long. It could've been shorter.

Definitely not for everyone, but god, i LOVED this. It's so dark, and Shantel Tessier has a way of writing the dom sub SO SO WELL. Absolute dominance, never read anything like this again from any other author.
