Well you can accuse Chris of many things (too simplistic, no depth, over the top etc) but you cannot accuse him of being slow. Once the premise was established in Blood Oath Chris now ensures you are racing through the book at such speeds that the absence of many a thing can be forgotten. There are trace of King in the way he writes about minor characters and his handling of relationships is pretty good too. All in all this is a good addition to the franchise and while the villain is not great he is not bad either.
Great story, with a continuation of the overarching storyline. Interesting take on the buddy cop/agents trope. Fun, fast read, the author doesn't try to make the book anything other than what it is - a summer blockbuster movie style novel. Worth your time and money.
