this is not one of the best-written books ever but this got me out of a reading slump and was so much fun. i loved the twists and turns and my jaw kept dropping. i cannot wait to pick up more books by this author
This was a bingeable, quick read. I probably could have rated it higher if I was rating it mostly on enjoyment. But, I just couldn't look past all of it's flaws. Writing seemed to get worse as the book went on. Characters had absolutely zero development. And not even to mention all of the plot holes in the police and legal investigations.
I also didn't find the ending believable considering all of the information we were given throughout the book for which the first-person narration was probably the biggest reason for.
Very fast paced and a page turner! However... Some things are a little rushed and not very veridic, like they thinking they're already pregnant, the ambulance coming so quickly and having to take a polygraph test. Also, a lot of loose threads left hanging for no reason. And the ending? Not predictable at all....

“everybody freeze” is the funniest shit ever i can't believe it was written
Wonderful and detailed book for a new author! This book had me wanting to keep reading more. You'll be curious until the very end as to who done it. Great read!
It was a solid B- until the last couple of chapters, which were total trash. The twist was stupid and didn't make sense with the motivation of the characters at all.
This one is easily in the top 3 books I've read this year. I can't believe I didn't read it sooner. I love a good thriller/mystery/suspense and this was top notch. I never saw it coming. It was twist after twist after twist. It was great. I would definitely recommend. The things that happened, I couldn't even believe it. I didn't want to put it down, so much so that I read it in 3 days! Things were constantly happening, but it was easy to follow. Loved it. 10/10.
rented the audiobook as it sounded like it would be an interesting thriller, but ended up being disappointed.
The story could have been interesting, but I found myself thinking many times that the legal/investigative aspects did not make sense, and all the characters were acting like middle schoolers rather than law enforcement professionals.
The plot twist was interesting and is what kept me going, as I saw it mentioned several times in the reviews, but in retrospect, it was not worth it.
I personally liked the back-and-forth perspective switch, as I had never read a book written in such a way, but overall the writing fell flat as it felt rushed and poorly edited.
2.5 stars. Not super great but it kept me engaged. Some plot holes for sure and the motive was lacking IMO. Wouldn't recommend. Also why did they not pull together her and Bob hating together in the end?? what was the point of that lol
This took FOREVER to finish. I hated the writing style and the immaturity of the characters. Saw the ending coming from a mile away and it wasn't even explained in an interesting way.
It has me hooked for most of it but I just wasn't wild about the ending. Made the innocent guy look super pathetic - which may have been her point. But I just felt the last whole part where she went on and on about how much of a loser her husband was - was a tad unnecessary. Plus I hate how he got out to death for a crime he didn't commit and she was basking in that fact.
So I was really enjoying the first half of this, like a lot. But the second half completely lost me. The ending I hated, I was so disappointed because I was loving the first half of this book.
