DNF @ 53%The only impressive thing about this book is that it managed to put me off reading for three weeks, which none of the hundreds that came before it were capable of doing. Honestly, I'm still not sure I'm in the mood to start a new book yet. I just want to get this off my reading list and out of my mind forever. It may take rereading [b:Captive Prince 9305362 Captive Prince Volume One (Captive Prince, #1) C.S. Pacat https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1356028113s/9305362.jpg 14188292] to purge the bad feelings I have about my kindle right now.I loathed the writing style of this book. It's ridiculously detailed, and not in a good way. Practically all details are completely unnecessary. Here's an example:Ben woke up Sunday morning at six. He stumbled into the kitchen and opened the fridge. He found stacks of plastic containers with everything from egg salad to fried chicken. He went to the cupboard and checked the cereal shelf. Two kinds of Cheerios (original and Apple Cinnamon), Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, some Raisin Bran, Special K, Rice Krispies, and Honey Smacks. And that was only the front row. He rummaged around behind and pulled out a box of Frosted Mini-Wheats, poured some into a bowl, and covered them with milk. He grabbed a spoon and headed for the living room, where he pulled out his iPad and started reading the Times and the Journal. He hadn't seen any news in three days.I'm just...Add in the fact that I didn't like any of the characters and that the relationship was not believable (Travis going from OTT straight good ole country boy to cock hungry bottom overnight was just ridiculous), and I was beyond done.Most of my friends loved this book, but it just goes to show how different tastes can be!
