4.5 i loved this and it was tons of fun! it was different from a normal thriller which i loved. megs character was just so much fun and the storyline was just fun as a whole. i highly recommend this.

This is the first book I read by Julie Clark and I was not disappointed. I have had The Last flight on my kindle for at least a year. After reading this I will for sure be moving it up on my reading list.. It's a little bit different than a typical thriller which is a nice change.
We have two main characters Kat, a journalist, and Meg, or Melodie, or Maggie... she has more than a few aliases. Each is a strong woman in her own right and they both have a goal and I would not even try to stop them. Sometimes Karma is needed and beautiful.
Kat believes that Meg is a con artist and wants to expose her. While Meg definitely is not what she appears to be on the surface, her reasons go far beyond anything Kat could have imagined. Meg has returned because she has someone that she actually wants to expose. At a glance, it appears that the two women have become friends but you know what they say about keeping your friends close, but your enemies closer. Julie Clark's writing style sucked me in immediately. As the story develops, the reader discovers why Kat is so obsessed with Meg's story and that there is much more to Meg's story than Kat initially believed. Interesting storyline flashing back to some of Meg's previous cons and trying to guess how she will get back at corrupt politician, Ron Ashton. Who I didn't like as a character but I thought he was a beautifully written Villain. I adored this to the point of obsession. I can not wait to see what comes next.
I usually don't like revenge stories but here I am. This was fun and satisfying
Julie Clark does not disappoint! She has a knack for writing flawed yet lovable characters. Together, Meg and Kat make an unlikely yet powerful duo.
When Meg comes back to town, Kat thinks this is her opportunity to seek revenge on her for an incident that occurred ten years prior. What she doesn't realize is that Meg holds the reigns. A skilled and seasoned con artist, she cannot be easily conned herself. The two forge an unorthodox friendship, and Kat comes to see that maybe Meg's cons aren't as selfish as she once assumed.
Both Meg and Kat's stories are strong and well-developed, playing off each other flawlessly. My only quip is how only one man in the entire book is one of the ‘good guys' and we only see him for a brief time. It wasn't a major turn-off for me because the story was strong enough, but it was an obvious case of an ‘all men are bad' situation. Nonetheless, I loved both of the main characters and I love how the story came full circle.
You Think You Know Me. This is a con artist/ revenge tale where if you think you know either of our main characters... well, you need to read through the end of the tale. ;) I found it close enough to thriller territory to warrant that label, as I was constantly wanting to further uncover exactly what was going on. Despite some other reviews claiming the contrary, there actually are a few twists... though I fully admit they are more of the “no narrator is honest” type, as the text openly admits. Ultimately I had fun with this tale, and that is all I really ask of a book. Very much recommended.
This may just be the start of an auto-buy relationship. I read and loved The Last Flight so I had to snag this one when it came up on NetGalley. I needed a good “I am woman, hear me roar” story and man was this ever it.
This has it all, and would make a fun movie too. We have women wronged, plans in motion for revenge, men that must pay, lies ALL over the place, and at the core - evil with good intentions. Meg is the perfect morally gray character in this one.
This is a quick read too, even though it's not really all that fast-paced. With good writing and the “I need to know what's next” incentive, I breezed right through this one. Definitely snag this if you want a refreshing and fun revenge with a sort of happily ever after.

How refreshing to read another great book by Julie Clark focusing on two women's interlocking stories. Meg/Melody is a con artist extraordinaire - she can change her persona at will, fits right into any milieu she finds herself in, always comes out on top. Kat's been chasing her for years, seeking revenge for a set-up Meg engineered that wound up causing her years of psychic pain. Now the two of them are finally face-to-face but instead of a cat fight, we get a much more intriguing interplay where Kat becomes Melody's assistant in fleecing would-be luxury home buyers and slowly, begrudgingly, comes to admire the con woman's ability to forge her way through life, getting back at those who have done her wrong. If you like strong women who seize life by the balls and don't suffer fools, this is the book for you.
