La primera saga de Camp Half-Blood, verdaderamente me encantó, la pasé genial leyendo estás historias y no puedo esperar lo que se viene
This was a fun book. We get to see these teens all a little older and a little more mature. We get to see the plot line of these books kind of come to a close, while seeing the prophecy become fulfilled. I thought it was a satisfying conclusion to the series, and also set up the next series nicely. I'm excited to get into the next series because I've heard they're a little more mature. One of my biggest obstacles in this series was that they were obviously written for a much younger audience, so I had a hard time connecting. I feel like if I had read these when I was this age, I would've been absolutely enamored with it. Today, I still definitely respect the story and understand it's hype, I just couldn't connect as well. Still definitely worth the read!
TW: death, demons, depression, fire, loss of loved ones, skeletons, violence, war themes
I haven't completed a series in a really long time so I'm really happy to start off the year with the end of the Percy Jackson series.
The Last Olympian had callbacks to previous books, classic Percy Jackson humour, and a great message about a sense belonging.
I'm generally not the biggest fan of war-based books but I think The Last Olympian balanced out the war-plot with the character arcs really well.
My favourite scene from the book:
“I am the least of the gods. Why would you trust me with this?”
“You're the last Olympian,” I said.
“And the most important.”
“And why is that, Percy Jackson?”
“Because Hope survives best at the hearth,”
The series concluded well and the prophecy at the end of the book made me want to read the next series.
Percy Jackson is the best narrator ever. I'm still in awe after reading this.
I just loved this!!! It was soo emotional, and seriously the war here was much bigger and cooler than the Hogwarts battle. I mean this was serious! I loved Percy's request to the gods in the end. He is soo nice. I hope you're doing all right Annabeth. Seriously I knew Rachel will be special for something in this crazy world, love her! I felt bad for Luke... and many other heroes. I won't be reading other Rick Riordian books for some time (months or even more) I need time to heal because they're too much, fantasy books make my head weird. I still loved these times! You are one of my fave book series ever!!!
Oh yeah this is exactly what you want from a last book in a series!!! I loved Percy's character development in this one especially. I'm so proud of them all!
I'm certainly going to read more from Riordan because the humor in this one again is just the BEST!
Last book in the PJO series! Ahh, this is always such a ride! It was an emotional rollercoaster. I felt joy, I felt anger, I felt misunderstood, I felt alone, I felt sad and I felt like I was a hero!
This book, this series, will always have a special place in my heart! I grew up with these stories and I love them to pieces!
This book is action packed and so fast paced! It literally sucks you in and it won't let you go until after you've finished the book (or not ...)! They grew up, so so fast!
Can't wait to reread the Heroes of Olympus series!
What an amazing conclusion to such a beautiful series. I fell in love with these characters and I loved every single book in this series. They made me laugh, cry, scream and feel everything at once.
I can't wait to dive into Heroes of Olympus and meet the new demi-gods and see Percy, Annabeth and the rest of their friends grow
I thought this was a wonderful concluding book to Percy's story. In ended in a way that closed his story but left enough string to open up more. This book did not end how I thought it was going to end, and that surprised me but I am nowhere mad at how Riordan chose to do so. I actually loved the ending, and thought it was unique.
I enjoyed seeing much more of Nico in this book than the last one, and seeing Percy grow into a more mature person. At first I was slightly skeptical because it seemed that he just kept making the wrong decisions in the last couple books but I thought he really stepped up in this last one to become the hero that his world needed. I also was very happy that he and Annabeth finally worked it out, and got together. Percy's tendency to just let girls confess their feelings and then leave then hanging was getting under my skin, and although I knew he had a lot of his plate it seemed like he had at least one chance to say Yes or No. But towards the second half of the book I could see he was finally working his own feelings out, and I was happy he did so.
I did not see Rachel's ending coming, but I am interested to see where the author takes this.
Ok just wow!!! Now that was a great fun-filled, action-packed, chaotic and delightful read. I wasn't sure how the author was going to wrap this one up and was a little anxious to read this. Talk about the perfect package all wrapped up with a pretty bow.
Now it's time to move on the the spin-offs!!
The Last Olympian was a fairly good end to an okay series. I liked that Riordan expanded his formula a bit, but I felt he went a little too wild for my taste. I appreciated that the prophecy ended up meaning something slightly different than what everyone assumed for the entire series. In general though, I feel pretty neutral about this book and already feel the details slipping away.
Cuando se dice que es la batalla final, literalmente es la batalla final. Todo el libro es combate tras combate, justo como debe ser.
More of a 3.5 stars, but I'll round up.
The Annabeth/Percy/Rachel triangle was old before this book ever started. I really didn't need the attention paid it here. (Also, the whole Annabeth/Percy thing isn't for me at all, so... sigh)
I've never liked the whole thing where the story has only one POV character, but they have super special dreams so we can see what else is going on with others. It invariably ticks me off in books.
Like the ending/resolution. I mean, it worked really well for me so, yeah, thumbs up for that.
Also, we get to learn more about Luke in this story and I have always had a soft spot for his character so that was nice.
All in all, solid enough ending to the series.
A great finale to a wonderful series. I appreciated that especially in this book, Percy had a clear personal journey with Nico, an expansion on how he had to get himself onto the quest in The Titan's Curse or was separated from the main group in The Battle of the Labyrinth. For me Percy's development was clear and purposeful in this story, uncomfortably trying to grow in power to match his enemies whilst accepting the strength in others and kinship. The logical placement of the Olympian Gods was nice to see as each had a clear objective, and the newly introduced Gods and Titans felt so appropriate to the themes of the story.
Riordan doesn't leave loose ends in this series either, every plot thread coming to fruition and certain characters and relationships being rewarded for their development with smart callbacks. This leads to a sense of satisfaction throughout the book, and unlike the previous entries this is basically one long battle/massive seige - but the series has earnt the right for this climax, making it feel like the only way Percy Jackson had ended.
But of course, Riordan leaves a tantalising cliffhanger for the sequel series...
This makes the perfect ending for the whole series, this is my favorite book in the series.
I finally finished the Percy Jackson series and it only took me like.... 8 years. I feel so accomplished! I was so stuck on Battle of Labyrinth, but I loved The Last Olympian. I felt like everything was wrapped up so nicely and I loved the way the finished out Luke's story. MY HEART. I just still can't believe it took me SO LONG to finish this damn series, but now I want more. I think my favorite part of The Last Olympian was all of the reunions of characters from previous books, as well as the way that they tied everything up and I feel like Riordan really tied up the loose ends well.
maravilloso final de saga. Lo tiene todo: acción, risas, suspense, ternura, amor... Y mucha divinidad. ¡Ay! ¿Por qué no apareciste antes en mi vida Percy Jackson?

Well now, how about that ending!
This was a great series and I am super happy I finally got around to finishing it. There was a lot of cool stuff and different destinies for different people. Even ended up caring about people that didn't show up much. The fighting was great and, as always, I enjoyed the inclusion of old myths and curses.
The only thing that is nagging me is that the story didn't feel too much liked it ended. I suppose this isn't a bad thing, considering there are more series out there... and really they are only 16 so their potential story isn't over...so much to live for. Well, thinking about it this way, I kinda like the ending more.
Now I have to figure out which series to read next!
