The Knocked up Plan

Pretty much what the title says. Smut, stupidity, a few redeeming qualities, one severe face-palm on my part. Even if you like the trope, there's better.

Sigh, I love baby stories. They always have so many different emotions and options on where the story can go. Lauren Blakely does this trope so perfectly, I love the way she writes, Lauren's books are always funny, smart and emotional. She immerses the reader into the world of the characters and you forget where you are as you delve deeper into the story. I fell in love with this story and the characters. I went through so many emotions listening to it. I laughed, I cried and I cheered.

Ryder is such a sweetheart, I loved his interactions and mindset. Watching him overcome his past and open himself up to Nicole was beautiful to experience. It's not often you get to experience that much personal growth in a character and it was refreshing. He's sexy, cocky and vulnerable, he stole my heart.
I loved Nicole she's a woman that knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go get it. She's strong and independent. She's surrounded herself with people that care and support her. She's sassy and I couldn't help but love her.

The relationship between these two characters was fun. I loved the banter, which we experience early on in the book and although their relationship changes the banter is still a huge part of it, and I loved that. Experiencing the changes in the relationship as they occurred with the couple but being privy to what each of them thought was enlightening and entertaining. The sex was steamy, oh yes, Ryder and Nicole will definitely leave you hot under the collar, the scenes play a vital role in the story and enhance the relationship between the two characters. The way this relationship progresses is beautiful to watch and the emotions throughout the last few chapters really embody this couple and bring tears to this listeners eyes.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are the perfect duo to narrate this dual POV. I loved their narration, they really brought all the feels to the forefront with this one. It might be one of my favourites. Sebastian York's performance of Ryder was outstanding, the moments when Ryder's vulnerability shone through was one of the highlights in this audiobook. Sebastian just nails it. Andi Arndt was the most wonderful person to bring Nicole to life, she performs the sassy, strong independent woman so perfectly.
They both have such excellent comedic timing and they delivered those moments so fantastically that it felt organic and not forced at all. But, they also hit all of those emotional moments with just as much power. It's beautiful to listen to.
