Honestly a book that should be on top of the list for anyone involved in business. Filled with good thoughts and sensible advices for running businesses that put people first.
A labour of hope
It is quite clear that Simon Sinek has made it his Just Cause to spread wholesome leadership and long-term thinking (infinite thinking?) This book is an excellent tool for that as are, I daresay, his other books. Even though there are many examples of how there are many companies that show some aspects of infinite thinking, this book carries a hope that there be many many more such people and organizations.
If you're building an organization, then this book is a required read for you to understand how long-term thinking makes a difference to your outcomes. If you're part of an organization, this book shows you a way to lead so that you plan an infinite game in that organization and out of it.
It definitely lacked something, although I can't put my finger on it. For what seemed like quite an easy read, I found it very difficult to keep at it.
Quarterly results or sustainable enterprise founded on a just cause, able to flex and change to continue pursuing the just cause, while putting people first. Sinek explains why the latter approach is both sustainable and profitable.
