3,5 stars for a creative and well written story in its structure, simulating the stages of sleep, the characters, surprising until the last page, and the plot, amix of sci fi and human interest.
From the psychoanalytical review of Sarah's eyes to the craziness of Dr Dudden labs and behavior or the deep love Robert shows, everything is a surprise.

*4.5 stars A meditation on madness, obsession, belonging, intimacy, and much more. Bizarrely brilliant, darkly funny, and often surprisingly moving. I was enthralled throughout. A biting rebuke of the pomposity of the learned and a character study of the fine line between genius and insanity. What Coe is able to capture kept me eager to turn pages, even if the “twist” is obvious quite early.

Ho di gran lunga preferito questa “casa del Sonno” alla “banda di Brocchi”.
