Although I loved The Yellow Wife more than The House of Eve, I really enjoyed this story. The dual POV’s was compelling. A little predictable but I was wrapped up in the story. I wish the ending connected more with maybe a bigger reveal but nonetheless a great story of 2 women overcoming some real life challenges in the 1950s.
4.5/5 - Another great story by Sadeqa Johnson! I appreciate how the two FMCs lives intertwined without them knowing it. It's amazing what we as black people have gone through in this country, especially when it came to unwanted pregnancies in the early 1900's. I also loved how elements of the Yellow Wife was weaved into this book as well.
