Oh this was astoundingly lovely. There was no miscommunication plot, no cheating (or the presumption of cheating), nothing untoward. Y'know the usual suspects in histroms. It was VERY NICE to read something that didn't have those tropes. Just a rake in need of reformation, and a girl willing to help him for a price of her own.
The rake in question, Kieran, quickly only had eyes for his heroine, and the leading lady was SO STUBBORNLY herself it was refreshing. Plus the dirty talk and banter coming out of these two. WHEW. High heat.
All in all an absolute joy to read, highly recommended. Absolutely going onto the next book in the series.
This book was lovely. The premise was fun, the different settings were rich and exciting, and the romance was both tender and steamy.
I'm looking forward to the next in the series and would recommend this for anyone looking for an easy to read historical romance with a bit of a modern progressive touch.
