The Girl from the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún, Vol. 1

A small girl being cared for by a cursed monster is just as adorable and heartbreaking as you can convey by the cover. I really love the art style completely, the plot and character building is steady throughout this 1st book. They establish the world, relationship between the two characters, and rules very nicely. I have plenty of questions about the mystery but not about how everything works and motivations of the characters.

One of the rules is that the monster can not touch her, because then she would get cursed. This can cause a real sense of danger for this girl. [ There is a scene that was pretty emotional when the girl is chased down and she hurts her leg badly. He can not touch and help carry her back home, so she has to walk on it. And again she has to bandage herself up with only his guidance. (hide spoiler)]

The ending was a bit strange. They introduced a character at the beginning and kinda felt like they threw him in last minute. I kinda wish he was in the background sometime just watching them, then it would make sense that he would show up at his opportune moment.
