Since I was able to start the third book right after the second, I did not face the dread of having to wait between releases, but I still couldn’t get to it fast enough. With all the upheaval and death in Hunger, the ascension of Elvar was by far my absolute favorite. I know there are those who are not fans of her character, but I have really enjoyed her growth the most. She is as much of a warrior as Orka, but she has grown in her “though-cage” and heart, and you can feel she is on the cusp of something big.
The only reason this book lost half a star is because at times it was a bit all over the place, which left me reeling after certain scenes. I would also say that while Guthvarr’s perspective was worthwhile, I didn’t always relish his chapters the way I did the others, even Biorr. He’s just such a twit, and I was kind of waiting for his come-uppance.
I can’t say enough about how much I loved this series, and it’s definitely one I will revisit over and over again. I do not have physical copies of this, but I will be picking them up when I can. I also plan on visiting Gwynne’s other worlds and look forward to sharing those journey’s as well.

Wow! What an epic conclusion to an epic series. The Bloodsworn saga had quickly jumped to one of my favorite series of all time! I absolutely adore these books.. especially Orka. I've said it before but I am an Orka fangirl!! I put off reading this final book for a while because I just wasn't ready to let go of these characters and say goodbye to this world. But I was finally ready and boy did I go through it with this book.
Those final 100 pages put me through every emotion. I was cheering one second and crying the next. My god this was just so so so good! I cannot wait to have a reread of this series. I could go on and on about how much I love it but really you should just read it.
I recommend this series with my whole being! You are missing out if you haven't read it yet..
Final rating: 5 stars ✨
Side note: this is my first 5 star read of 2025 and I couldn't be happier about it!! Read this series!!!!!
I fell off half way through. Will have to come back to this sometime by rereading the whole series.
I wish I liked this more. The story is incredibly epic and there’s so many cool things going on, but there’s just something about the writing style that doesn’t quite click with me. I’m sure this is a 5-star book to many and I think it’s well worth a read, but I probably won’t be pursuing anything else from John Gwynne.
Yang mengikuti seri Bloodsworn Saga wajib membaca The Fury of The Gods.
NetGalley approval came through the day after I finished Hunger of the Gods, so naturally jumped straight into this.
Incredible and epic conclusion to the Bloodsworn Saga. Such an immersive book, fight scenes and the world building were masterfully written and character arcs were tied up nicely (Elvar's especially).
Perfect ending to the perfect series.

Thank you to Orbit for providing me with an ARC copy.
I am absolutely blown away with how perfectly this series ended. Gwynne knocked it out of the park by wrapping up each story line nicely. No one died ‘unnecessarily' or ‘gratuitously'. Everything made sense in the context of the story. I think I will definitely be picking up some of Gwynne's older work as this series was the first by him that I've ever read. Anyway – The Bloodsworn Saga is absolutely worth the read. I can't recommend this one enough – especially if you're fond of Viking-esque stories.
My one ‘complaint,' I guess you'd call it, is that Snaka's appearance was extremely short-lived and almost (almost!) unnecessary. It did bring some gravitas to the situation the characters found themselves in, but ultimately it didn't really do anything to the story that wasn't already happening.
My absolute favorite warrior, Orka, continued to hold her own throughout the whole book. She is so, so, so cool. How awesome is it that the most badass warrior of the bunch is a woman? And not even a young woman – Orka's a middle-aged mother! Such a neat character. I would have read the series if it was only through her POV, honestly.
ANYWAY, please go read this series. It's so good, and it finishes in a very nice, well-rounded way.
