The Crescent and the Cross

At some point over the half of text, it becomes zero about Balkans, and totally about the history of eastern religions and populations, with an accent on Muslims and Jewish cultures and history. While I can recognize their significant impact on how the south-eastern European region has evolved, I still feel the writing went off the track (considering the title), and into some details that could have fit into another paper.
