When I first started this book, I almost gave up on it. The writing is very stylized, the chapters especially short and oftentimes character and setting descriptions read more like a screenplay than a novel. In addition, the main character Frank was unlikable and his womanizing in particular turned me off.

I'm glad I decided to keep reading.

As the story progressed, I stopped paying attention to the writing style and became fully engrossed in the plot. At the end, I actually became nervous for Frank as the story reached its climax. Frank himself grew on me as we explored his relationships with his family and co workers.

I still could have done with less adultery, though.

I received a free copy of this book through Goodreads First Readers program, but my rating and review are my own opinion.
