Insightful book on how we limit ourselves
This book is a useful read that's good for skimming through. The Upper Limit Problem makes a lot of sense and I can definitely relate to the various symptoms and solutions. There is a very good enumeration of the scenarios where we are likely to be affected by this problem. The book goes on to describe various things we can do about it.
But then there are times where there seem to be extravagant claims that are difficult to digest. I'm sure this could be chalked to my own upper limit problems but where I am, certain things sounded excessively celebrated. I like to look at this as a resulting state of how societies have developed and how that has dictated our upbringing. The benefits of breaking those chains don't need to be overstated.
Overall, this is a book worth reading and don't let a few extravagant remarks ruin it.
Although the book is still a great motivator to keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone by taking the “Big Leap” and identifying your “Upper Limit” problem(s), the concepts explained in the book are unoriginal and barely scratching the surface.
His experiences of being a life coach seep through in that it's very anecdotal and always seems to have a happy end.
