AUDIOBOOK & E-BOOK
Meh, I don't recommend this book. It started out great, but about halfway through took a turn that I didn't like and the end was blah.
Brody's aggressiveness was hot, and his romance was incredible - I loved his gift of sticks rather than flowers. Their banter was adorable. The chase was great!
About halfway through there is an addition of another point of view - Brody's ex-wife, Willow, who I assumed was dead before this. I didn't want to hear about her therapy sessions or how she thought this was her time to get Brody back. The romance and excitement I had building up for Deliah and Brody went cold as I learned about Willow.
Don't waste your time on this book.
2.5 stars
This book is full insta-love– well, okay insta-attraction with love not far behind. I started out really enjoying it though and thought the two were really funny together. Definitely was a 3+ star book until a third POV entered the stage.
So, about midway in I began to lose interest. I wasn't convinced they wouldn't be together– that's not how romance novels work, so it felt more like additional unneeded conflict. Then we have the main character's problem which to me felt overdone, but not mentioned enough to have mattered the way it did... I'll leave it there since I don't want to give anything away.
Look, I think the two work well together and I wish I had enjoyed this more, but unfortunately bringing Willow in just didn't sit right with me :/
This doesn't mean I won't recommend this one to people, I think many would find the additional POV interesting or refreshing to see.
