Quirky. Unusual. Weird. But fun. Almost only monogue, hardly a plot, far fetched, and urban fantasy really, not a cozy - with a lot of humor. I listened to an audiobook narrated by the Geordie author. Grrreat accent! That probably enhanced the experience. It was like listening to someones quirky stream of consciousness.
I liked this book for its unusualness, its not adhering to any of the rules. The story has no proper buildup, the lover is not hard to get at all, a new profession falls into her lap, and a crime happens all of a sudden and then gets rolled up way too fast. Never mind. Such is urban fantasy life.
This book was funny and engaging, and the main character was incredibly relatable to me! Definitely recommend, and will be reading the others in the series!
