What's the worst thing you could do when you're stranded in the woods with your rival? Sleep with him. That's what. Not only is Rowan Whitlock my sister's ex, but we're both vying for the contract that would save my family farm. So why did it have to be Rowan who came to the rescue after I fell on a remote hiking trail? When the weather turned unexpectedly, we were forced to find shelter and ride out the storm. Only that wasn't the only thing I ended up riding. We promise ourselves what happens at the cabin stays at the cabin, but when we get back to Sugarloaf, it's impossible to stay away from him. Those blue eyes captivate me, his strong body comforts me, and he makes me feel beautiful. Which is crazy, right? If only my stupid head would listen and stop this before my heart gets involved, but I keep going back because I'm already in too deep. I should've known that the temptation wasn't worth the risk because when it all falls apart, our promises are broken, and I'm afraid my heart will never recover.

I would have easily given this book 5 stars if it had not been for the sister mess. This book was the sweetest! It's difficult to write a review for this one without spilling details that could be deemed as spoilers so I'm going to keep it brief, as usual. ;) I borrowed this book via Kindle Unlimited and purchased the Audible version at a discount so I could Whispersync and immerse my senses in this book. It is my favorite in the Whitlock Family series, so far! If Rowan hadn't slept with the sister years ago then this would have been a 5 star book for me, but that family relation is too close and grosses me out. Sorry, but even though he really didn't cheat on her, that's just my POV on that mess. However, I would definitely recommend this book anyway and, maybe (if you can) while reading this, just do like me and don't think about the fact that he slept with Charlotte's spoiled, self-centered, lying sister.
I'd recommend not skipping on the audiobook for this one because it was incredible! Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke are the cream of the crop when it comes to voice. Oh my gosh... Jason Clarke's voice is so yummy!
I can't wait for the next book in this series! I can already tell it's going to be so good!

Quick confession, I say this way too many times a day.
This isnโt my first Corinne Michaels book but it is the first of the series. The book follows Charlotte and Rowan, Charlotte hates Rowan because he is the ex that broke her sisterโs heart and ran her off to New York. They are also neighbors with competing farms and they both want the same project and Charlotte not only wants it, she needs it to save her familyโs farm. Rowan is a hell of a man, and I canโt fault her for falling for the man after heโs come to her rescue. One night in a cabin was all that was needed for them to push that hatred aside. I loved Rowan, he was perfect in my eyes. I absolutely hated Aurora, nothing would ever change my mind about that woman. The lies and the accusations were insane. I did think that at one point Charlotte was doing too much, I was like โwoman let the man help you save your farm damn it!โ The book was well written, I enjoy my fair share of Corinne books. Overall it was a fun read for me and I would definitely recommend it.
