Tales of the Sun Eater, Volume 2

The second collection of short stories that fits between the Sun Eater novels. This is a mix of Marlowe stuff and minor characters who don't appear in the novels. The final story concerns Crispin, the follow up from The Lesser Devil novella. Getting a bit more family info bumps this book up a half star.

The Four Devils is definitely the highlight of this collection!

Short stories are typically not my cup of tea, but these were very good. While not necessary to read for the Sun Eater Saga, they do provide nice backgrounds for the politics of the Empire, the devastation of the war, and they flesh out some of the minor characters.

3.5, mainly for the last two stories following Valka and Crispin. The rest of the stories didn't do much for me.
