This is a book for educators and interested parents. It details the reasons for observing young children closely and explains this in a developmental perspective. The book describes methods useful for gathering information about children from birth to about age ten or twelve. It is written by a Canadian College Professor who has had teaching experience in the USA and England as well as Canada. This is a textbook widely used in colleges and universities although some copies have been sold in bookstores.
